On Monday morning in the office of the head of government, a meeting between the Prime Minister Ehud Olmert with editors and reporters of Israeli Russian language media in an informal setting for breakfast. The journalists, some of whom are the editors in chief of the well-known Russian-speaking Israeli sites with the opportunity for two hours to ask the head of the government of any issues of concern to them and their audience.
The issues that interest the audience, was sufficiently broad, and they were, basically, the big politics : prospects for the development of the situation in the Palestinian Authority, relations with the Arab countries of Russia and the European union, divisions and failed itkansut, kadima prospects, and more.
To the surprise of some damage, no one asked him questions relating to the status of refugees from the former USSR. The only question on the topic speaking communities in Israel was russian mafia, and the head of the government confidently and categorically stated that he did not know any <russian mafia> and Russian-speaking population of Israel is the heritage and the richness of the country's most important strategic resource.
On foreign policy, the Prime Minister of Russia prefer to speak with the utmost restraint. He stressed that the direction of Russia's foreign policy should be judged not so much by the number of cases : however, Russia voted in the UN Security Counchil toughening sanctions against Iran and frozen completion of the work on the atomic facility in Bushehr. So, a return to confrontation in the style of cold war out of the question, says the head of the Israeli government.
Many guests raised questions were not too pleasant for the owner : Prime Minister was asked how he could explain his unpopularity, and will he resigned in the face of an unfavourable report of the board judge Winograd. One of the guests asked the Prime Minister to explain what it is the Acting Minister strategic planning Avigdor Lieberman. Olmert responded that Lieberman busy very important and, for the most part, in secret, including associated with the Iranian threat, and stressed that it is very grateful to his deputy for having assumed such a heavy responsibility which is not political dividends because of its non-public nature.
Note that in the meeting Olmert expressed a particular interest in the new and perspective Internet, the popularity among Russian Israeli audience he claimed to have heard. When one correspondent the reasons for the apparent decline in interest the current Israeli government to the development of Internet-head of government replied that minister Communications Shas party is sign nothing.
