An IDF soldier was moderately wounded when his unit came under fire during operations in Jenin's refugee camp before dawn on Wednesday.
The soldier was given first aid on the scene by army medics and transported to a hospital for further treatment.

The troops noticed a group of armed Palestinians and opened fire, shooting Ahmad Sankara, who managed to escape. Palestinian sources said that Sankara had been hit in his stomach and his hand.
An IDF source told Army Radio that Sankara was responsible for planting bombs and shooting at Israelis, as well as planning other terror attacks.
The soldiers found and confiscated an M-16 rifle, which may have been Sankara's own weapon. None of the troops were wounded.
