Academic staff ends strike after reaching wage agreement with gov't
The strike by the senior academic staff at the universities and institutions of higher learning has ended. The decision followed a meeting between the works committee representing the senior academic staff, and Education Minister Yuli Tamir.
The two sides agreed that the recommendations of the Shohat committee on changes in the wage scale of the academic staff would not be implemented unilateraly and that negotiations would take place.
